Old world influences with Aussie humour

Izway Wines is a family owned business that was formed by Brian Conway and Craig Isbel in 2002. We met in Beaujolais during vintage at Chateau Du Bluizard, and after sampling one or two glasses on three or four occasions, we decided to make our own wine when we returned to Australia. Our philosophy is very simple – to make the best wine we can without compromise. We are strongly influenced by old world, hands on winemaking and understand that great wine can only be made from great vineyards. We are very proud of being Australian ‘lads’, and hope our wines express a little of the down to earth, tounge-in-cheek ‘Aussieness’ that we both possess, without detracting from the seriously complex and intense flavors that are indicative of what we are trying to do. Our winery is off grid and interactive during harvest, and we want the tasting experience to be educational and insightful.
